The Racines 2017 Pinot Noir La Rinconada from California's Sta. Rita Hills showcases a collaboration between renowned winemakers from Burgundy, Champagne, and Santa Barbara. This wine is crafted from sustainably farmed vines planted in 1997 on a site with unique marine and diatomaceous soils. With a focus on native fermentation and significant whole cluster inclusion, it underwent approximately 14 months of aging in French oak, with a quarter of the barrels being new. The tasting notes reveal a robust character marked by complex herbal and earthy elements, complemented by deep blue fruit flavors. This wine possesses a strong structure and will benefit from further aging.
