One of the few wineries to make a 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve that eclipsed its 2007 counterpart is Anderson's Conn Valley. A spectacular effort that is as black as a moonless night, this full-bodied wine boasts abundant aromas of creme de cassis, camphor and subtle oak presented in a voluptuously textured, full-bodied style with terrific richness and depth. Great intensity and opulence as well as a layered mouthfeel make for a remarkable wine that should age for 20-30+ years.
Since the winery’s first commercial release in 1987, Anderson’s Conn Valley Vineyards have been producing world class wines. With a primary focus on high-end Cabernet Sauvignon, the 40-acre estate produces their wines in smaller quantities, making them difficult to obtain. Owner Todd Anderson centers most of his attention on perfecting their flagship wine, a Bordeaux-style blend that pays homage to the attractive wines of Pomerol and Saint-Emilion of the Right Bank, while also giving devoted time to special releases that have often been made from less-common varietals such as Petite Syrah. Anderson’s Conn Valley wines are quintessential examples of thoughtful winemaking techniques used to create complex and opulent characteristics in every bottle.
