“We take care of our grape vines, our land, the nature, which give energy to each piece of grapes then to every wine. Our work is respectful of what have been done before, a little step for future and we are proud to continue it…”
– Ellie Boudot, Proprietor
Some of the most famous and widely acclaimed white wines in the world come from the vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet, and Domaine Sauzet is located in the heart of the village. Owner and winemaker Gerard Boudot seeks to maximize finesse as well as individuality in each of his bottles. The varying levels of wine, from village to Grand Cru, are elegant, stylish and showcase the intensity and balance that comes from the terroir of Puligny-Montrachet.
The 2010 Sauzet Puligny Montrachet Champs Canet is a striking white wine from Burgundy, crafted from Chardonnay grapes grown on a high, rocky slope near Meursault. This vintage is noted for its low yields and cool climate, which contribute to its vibrant acidity and crisp character. The wine exhibits a precise profile with refreshing citrus notes, nuances of white blossoms, and a hint of hazelnut, all underlined by a mineral edge. The élevage process includes around 12 months in oak, with a small portion of new barrels, enhancing its complexity while maintaining clarity. This wine is built for aging, showcasing the finesse of one of Sauzet's premier crus.
