Tasting Notes

Booker’s 2008 Fracture ‘24’ (Syrah) is graced with multiple dimensions in its blue and back fruit. With time in the glass the wine’s inner perfume emerges, adding sweetness and lift. This is a huge, seamless expression of Paso Robles Syrah. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2020.

Rich and powerfully built, with bold aromas of blueberry, licorice and black olive leading to concentrated, plush flavors of smoky dark chocolate and orange zest that linger toward big, ripe tannins. Drink now through 2026.

The Winery

Named after two orphan brothers who were raised in Paso Robles, Claud and Dick Booker, Booker Vineyards aims to replicate the prominence that these brothers made on the region with their own wines. The Booker brothers helped to develop the region, working as farmers and assisting with manual labor, as well as being massive philanthropists for the region. One-hundred acres of the Booker brothers land was purchased by Lisa and Eric Jensen in 2001 in hopes to grow truly amazing fruit. They did in fact grow amazing fruit, and by 2005 they released their own label. The wines are mostly Rhone varieties, and are bold, ripe, and cleverly named, following the trend of most of Paso Robles.
