Château Cos d’Estournel
Château Cos d’Estournel is a revered, first rate winery in St- Estéphe though it was classified a Second Growth in 1855. The château itself is one of the most recognizable in all of Bordeaux, as it sits atop a ridge, resembles an opulent Asian pagoda and neighbors with Lafite Rothschild. In old Gascon, Cos translates to ‘the hill of stones’ which describes its gravely, limestone, well drained terroir. Though it is predominantly Merlot based, atypical for wines of Médoc, the wines are full-bodied, tannic, deeply complex and ageable.

- A beautiful example of the vintage, proprietor Michel Reybier and his top-notch winemaker, Jean-Guillaume Prats, have fashioned an exceptional wine displaying a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet perfume of boysenberries, black currants, cherries, pain grille, roasted herbs, and licorice.
