Predominately utilizing Merlot to produce red wine, Beauséjour-Duffau-Lagarrosse has 7 hectares of vineyards. In the 1990s, they caught the eye of highly acclaimed critic Robert Parker, giving the 1990 vintage a perfect 100 points.
The 2015 Beausejour Duffau-Lagarrosse, a Premier Grand Cru Classé B from Saint-Émilion, is an exceptional blend primarily of Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc (10%), crafted on a historic estate with a lineage dating back to the 19th century. This wine showcases a deep, brooding character, marked by intense aromas of dark cherry, plum, and herbal notes, complemented by hints of minerality and earthy undertones. With a full-bodied structure and elegance, it displays layers of richness and a gripping tannin profile. The palate is fresh and focused, leading to a long, complex finish. Aged in approximately 60-70% new oak, it promises to evolve beautifully over the years, with optimal drinking anticipated well into the next decade.
