Michel Niellon

Father and son duo, Marcel and Michel Niellon, began working together in the 1950s and have crafted more than 60 vintages to date. Since 1991, Michel shared vineyard and winemaking duties with his son-in-law, Michel Coutoux. The third generation, Mathieu Bresson, recently joined the team as well. The estate is best known for their Chardonnay including those from the grand cru climats of Chevalier-Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet, both located in Puligny-Montrachet. Niellon owns almost 20 acres of vineyard land and produces around 3,500 cases annually, most of which is exported. The winery is a classic example of Chassagne wines with a benchmark style that expresses the terroir of each unique vineyard.
