The father and son duo, Giacomo and Giovanni Conterno, are known by many in Piedmont as the masters of Barolo for producing legendary Monfortino wines. Following the end of World War I, Giacomo sought out to make Barolo with great aging potential, which came to be known as one of the firsts to be made in the ‘classic’ Barolo style. The esteem of these wines cannot be underestimated when it comes to Piedmonte wines. Their long established traditions continue today as Roberto Conterno, Giovanni’s son, produces crafts some of the best Piedmont wines each year. Monfortino terroir has stood the test of time, and have won over Barolo lovers from all over the world. If you do not have any Barolo in your cellar, look no further than Conterno.
