The hilltops of Piedmont offer a perfect contrast for Nebbiolo vines; Bounded by the Alps and the Mediterranean with limestone and sandstone soils beneath them. The by-product of this contrast (with help from a skilled vigneron) is structured wines with notes of cherries, tar, roses, leather, and wild mountain herbs.
