Colgin Cellars almost immediately claimed the title of one of Napa’s top cult wineries. Founded in 1992, they produced a single Cabernet until 1999 with fruit exclusively sourced from the Herb Lamb Vineyard on the lower slopes of Howell Mountain. To say the critics loved it would be an understatement. The brand expanded with the purchase of the Tychson Hill Vineyard, located just North of St. Helena, in 1997 and introduced the new single-vineyard Cabernet in 2000. The purchase of the IX Estate vineyard and construction of the winery on the Pritchard Hill site was completed in 2002, and Colgin has continued to develop new vineyards on this prestigious mountaintop.
Like its fellow cult contemporaries, no expense is spared, and Colgin has always attracted the top talent in winemaking and vineyard management. One thing we know for sure is you can taste the commitment to excellence in every sip.
This commitment enticed the Arnault Family, led by Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, to make a rare decision in 2017: private ownership investment in Colgin Cellars. Such personal investment by the Arnault family happens rarely and includes personal stakes in Chateau Cheval Blanc, Chateau d’Yquem and Domaine des Lambrays over the years. So we’ve raided the Benchmark cellar to produce a list of wines from these fabulous producers deemed worthy of the Arnault family investiture. Claim your position on these world-class wines today.
