Pilcrow is quietly reshaping what Napa Cabernet can be. Founded on the belief that less is more, this small producer takes inspiration from the region’s classic era—when balance, freshness, and site expression mattered more than sheer power. Each bottling comes from a distinct hillside or mountain vineyard, including Mt. Veeder’s Archer & Byrd, Howell Mountain’s Granite Lake, Yountville’s Ghost Block, and Coombsville’s Glass Rock. Farming is organic and hands-on, with an emphasis on early picking, natural acidity, and minimal intervention in the cellar. New oak is used sparingly, allowing each site’s character to shine through.
The result is a lineup of Cabernets that are powerful—refined, age-worthy, and unmistakably Napa, yet refreshingly old-school in feel. These limited-production wines have earned strong critical attention for their precision, energy, and texture. Glass Rock shows vivid brightness and silky tannins, while Granite Lake captures mountain intensity with length and polish.
For collectors, sommeliers, or anyone craving a more nuanced expression of Napa, Pilcrow offers a return to authenticity—Cabernet as it was, and as it should be.
