BOND is a prestige winery created by Bill Harlan to express the character of individual Napa Valley “Grand Cru–level” vineyard sites. Rather than producing blends, BOND makes site-specific Cabernet Sauvignons, each sourced from a carefully selected single vineyard with its own distinctive terroir.
Founded in 1996, BOND released its first wines—the 1999 Melbury and Vecina—in 2003. Additional vineyard-designate wines were added in subsequent years.
Today, five distinct wines make up the BOND portfolio: Melbury — From the hills east of Rutherford; elegant, aromatic, and red-fruit driven with fine tannins. The most graceful and refined of the lineup. Quella — From the Oakville benchlands; bright with blue fruit, mineral and a subtle saline edge. Energetic and fresh. St. Eden — North of Oakville on iron-rich, red rocky soils; powerful and structured with dark fruit, graphite, and exotic spice. Pluribus — From an elevated site on Spring Mountain; intense, vertical, and aromatic, with characteristics of dark fruit, forest notes, and mountain herbs—wines of tension and purity. Vecina — From the western Oakville foothills south of Harlan Estate; dense, muscular, and brooding with black fruit, cocoa, and smoky minerality.
All BOND wines are 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted with an emphasis on terroir transparency, low yields, with meticulous vineyard and cellar work. Together, they represent some of Napa Valley’s most distinguished and collectible expressions of Cabernet. Benchmark offers a wide selection of these wines and vintages, including magnums—an exceptional choice for special holiday dinners.
