Barolo may be the most magnificent red wine region in Italy with its unforgiving acid and intense, brooding flavors; this is not a wine to be taken lightly. But don’t overlook the wines of Barbaresco! Unlike Barolo, Barbaresco has loads of structure. You will also find the same lovely notes of roses, tar, leather, herbs, and cherries. However, Barbaresco, (right next door) is just a bit friendlier. These wines have a definite softer side to the palate than the serious wines of Barolo.
