Bordeaux is famous for being one of the premier wine-producing regions in the world, as well as the home of the “First Growths” – Haut Brion, Margaux, Mouton Rothschild, Latour, and Lafite Rothschild.  Many other Bordeaux Chateaus, such as Petrus, Le Pin, and Cheval Blanc, are also legends in the history of the world's great wines.   Every Bordeaux vintage is unique, with subtle variations affecting the vineyards and wine which can result in the differences that distinguish good vintages from the special, great vintages.  Two vintages considered among the “Best of the Century”, were the consecutive years of 2009 and 2010, a run rarely ever repeated.  While each year was distinct - both vintages resulted in incredible wines, with many scoring 99 and 100 points.  The 2009 vintage is described as” Lush, rich and beautifully polished reds. Top Médoc estates made glorious wines”.  The 2010 vintage is “Ripe and powerful, with racy tannins and acidity for balance. More structure-driven than the opulent 2009; should be very long-lived”.   Try a selection from both vintages and enjoy Bordeaux perfection!  There are still some great values available.
