The Northern Rhone holds much prestige in the French Red Wine World,  behind Burgundy and Bordeaux. Cote Rotie, Hermitage, Cornas, and St. Joseph have all made headways on wine lists at top Michelin Star restaurants and in collectors' cellars, often with a deep and personal knowledge of the history of the iconic Syrah (and Grenache) based wine region. 

Often, these wines are produced by negotiants; they are more humble wines while also (mostly) delicious. These wines, including Guigal's LaLas, Clape's Cornas, Chave's Hermitage, Jamet's Côte-Rôtie, and Rostaing's Côte Blonde, stand as true embodiments of the region's rich history of winemaking and the dedication of passionate grape growers.
