One of the stars of French wines is a Rhone based producer – Chapoutier.  Chapoutier produces wines from vineyards throughout the Rhone, but is most well known for their Northern Rhone Hermitage wines, both red and white.  Chapoutier prefers to craft wines from a single varietal, and all their vineyards are managed according to biodynamic farming standards.  The goal is to express the terroir of each vineyard “truthfully” through minimal intervention during the wine making process. Chapoutier describes this - “Soil Talks: if you listen to it and stick with it, that soil will produce wines of character and expressions of different terroirs.”
