Established in 1882, Spottswoode Estate is distinguished by the Victorian home that adorns its wine bottle labels. It was first christened in 1910 by Mrs. Albert Spotts and later acquired by Mary and Jack Novak in 1972. Spottswoode is situated on the western edge of St. Helena at the foot of the Mayacamas mountains. The terroir here is ideal for growing fine wine grapes. In 1982, precisely one hundred years after the estate's founding, Mary released Spottswoode's first Cabernet Sauvignon. Since 1985, Spottswoode has farmed its grapes organically and became certified organic (C.C.O.F.) in 1992. In late 2020, Spottswoode received their B-Corp certification, and as of 2021, they became Demeter-certified. The roles of winemaking and vineyard management are integrated, and individual attention given to each block contributes to the consistent quality and unique characteristics.
Today, run by Mary's daughters, Spottswoode annually releases Cabernet Sauvignon and Estate Sauvignon Blanc. Renowned for refined elegance, balance, and classic structure, don't miss out on these exceptional wines. Elevate your cellar with Spottswoode and relish the legacy of a storied estate.
