Today, Benchmark wants to highlight two outstanding producers in the Burgundy region: The Georges Roumier estate and Domaine Dujac. 

Domaine Georges Roumier is a prestigious winery known for producing some of the most refined and in-demand wines throughout Burgundy. They specialize in remarkable vineyard sites within the villages of Morey-St-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny. Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses, along with Grand Cru sites in Bonnes Mares, Musigny, and Echezeaux are noteworthy. However, the most famous site associated with Roumier, and the best value in their portfolio, has to be their 1er Cru monopole in Morey St. Denis, Clos de la Bussiere. The winemaker, Christophe Roumier, has a great talent for creating beautifully balanced and sensual wines, even in difficult vintages. Rouimier wines are known for being bright, concentrated, elegant, and true to the terroir.

Domaine Dujac is another highly respected winery, founded by Jacques Seysses in 1967. A true icon of Burgundy, they have created some of the most graceful wines in the Cote d’Or, utilizing environmentally friendly, biodynamic vineyard management and innovative winemaking techniques. Notable Dujac vineyard sites include legendary parcels within the Grand Crus Clos de la Roche and Clos St. Denis, along with a more recently purchased superstar parcel within Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru aux Malconsorts. The estate is now run by Jeremy Seysses, and his wife Diana Snowden, who is a U.C. Davis enology graduate and former vintner in the Napa Valley.
