One of Pomerol’s most coveted labels is Le Pin. While the winery has only been in production since 1979 – which is considerably younger than most of the chateaux in Bordeaux, these Right Bank wines are compared to, and often agreed by many, to be held to a higher standard than some of the most celebrated First Growths. Though some of the lots have small amounts of Cabernet Franc interspersed, Le Pin is typically comprised of 100% Merlot. Low yields and the desire for perfection result in small production, rampantly increasing the demand for these epic bottles.
