Continuing the saga and countdown of Napa’s classified growths, we now come to the “Second Growths”. Being a “Second Growth” by no means diminishes the quality of these stellar Napa producers. Names like Staglin, Bond, and Scarecrow carry incredible reputations for making some of the best wine in the Napa Valley. Whether coming from the dusty and rich valley floor of Rutherford and Oakville, or the vineyards of Howell Mountain, these “Super Seconds” are serious contenders deserving the highest praise.
