We now stand in the middle of the saga of Napa Valley’s “growths” moving to the thirds. In Bordeaux, the classified third growths have a reputation for being some of the best wines in the world, and the third growths of Napa are of that same caliber. Names like Opus One, Shafer, and Stag’s Leap carry clout and prestige rich with history and exquisite, sumptuous flavors. Many of these names are famous throughout the world and deserve attention.

Here at Benchmark Wine Group, we have compiled a list of some of the best of these Third Growths for your consideration. As stated previously, this list is strictly my opinion and does not diminish the quality of other Napa Valley producers. It is intended for solemn amusement.
