How Gift Cards Work
- Step 1
Choose an amount
Pick any amount from $25 to $1,000 and add it to your cart. Add more than one if you're shopping for several people.
- Step 2
Check out
Gift cards are digital, so an order of gift cards alone has nothing to ship. You'll sign in or create a Benchmark account at checkout if you haven't already - that's where we send the card.
- Step 3
Receive the code by email
As soon as your order is processed, your order confirmation email includes a redemption code for each gift card. Forward the code to your recipient, or keep it for yourself.
- Step 4
Redeem it
Enter the code in the “Promo or gift code” field in the cart or at checkout. The balance is applied to the order's final total, and whatever is left stays on the card for next time.
Send It With a Card
Once your code arrives, you can choose to dress it up. Copy one of our template designs into a new email for your recipient, with editable fields for the name, amount, your code, and your message right in the draft.

Good to Know
- How will I receive the gift card?
- By email. As soon as your order is processed, your order confirmation email includes a redemption code for each gift card you bought. Nothing ships. Forward the code to your recipient with your own note, or send it with one of the card designs above.
- What can a gift card be used for?
- Anything on the site. It's applied against the order's final total - wine, shipping, and tax included - after any promotion has been taken off.
- Does the whole balance have to be used at once?
- No. Any unused balance stays on the card and can be applied to future orders until it's spent.
- Can I combine a gift card with a promo code or another gift card?
- Yes. A promotion and one or more gift cards can all be applied to the same order.
- Who can use a gift card?
- Anyone with the code - until it's first used. The account that first pays with a gift card becomes its owner, and from then on the card can only be used by that account. Recipients will need a Benchmark account to redeem, which they can create at checkout.
- How do I check a balance?
- Sign in and enter the code above, or visit the Gift Cards section of My Account.
