Adega do Monte Branco

Adega do Monte Branco was founded by winemaker Luís Louro in 2004 near Estremoz in Portugal's northern Alentejo region. After learning alongside his father at Quinta do Mouro and gaining international experience in Sonoma County, Louro created his own estate with a focus on native Portuguese grape varieties, authentic regional character, and respect for nature.

The vineyards sit at elevations approaching 400 meters, where limestone and schist soils, moderate temperatures, and cooling fog create a distinctive microclimate within the Alentejo. Adega do Monte Branco works with varieties including Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, Arinto, Antão Vaz, and Trincadeira to produce balanced wines with freshness, structure, and depth. Its portfolio includes the approachable Alento range and the more limited Monte Branco wines, which express the character and aging potential of Estremoz.
