AALTO

Bodegas AALTO was founded in 1999 by Mariano García and Javier Zaccagnini with the goal of expressing the diverse terroirs of Ribera del Duero. García brought extensive experience to the project after serving as Technical Director at Vega Sicilia for 30 years. His approach combines limited yields, minimal intervention, and precise vineyard selection to create wines with power, structure, elegance, and complexity.

AALTO works primarily with Tinto Fino, the local name for Tempranillo, sourced from distinctive vineyard sites across Ribera del Duero. The winery produces AALTO alongside its flagship AALTO PS, or Pagos Seleccionados, which comes from rigorously selected old-vine parcels. By blending wines from individual sites after aging, AALTO captures the character of the region while achieving remarkable balance and depth.
