The story of 001 Vintners begins in 1933, when Carmine Martignetti received retail license number 001 for the Martignetti Grocery Company in Boston's North End. Generations later, Carmine and Beth Martignetti, together with their sons Freddie, Philip, and Michael, drew upon the family's longstanding connection to fine wine to create a Napa Valley wine of their own.

001 Vintners sources its Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from Ecotone Vineyard, a secluded hillside site located above St. Helena and below Howell Mountain. Its mature vines grow in rare white volcanic tufa, producing wines that unite concentration with freshness and finesse. Winemaker Graeme MacDonald works alongside grape grower Jack Bittner to craft classically styled wines that express the distinctive character of this remarkable Napa Valley vineyard.
