Founded in 2001 by childhood friends from Healdsburg, California, Arnot-Roberts was a natural path for barrel cooper Nathan Lee Roberts and winemaker Duncan Arnot Meyers. The two focus on small lot, singe vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir with some uncommon varieties including Trousseau, Falanghina, and Sylvaner. The first commercial vintage for the duo was in 2002, and they continue to source their fruit from well-dispersed vineyards throughout the Napa and Sonoma counties in AVAs such as Santa Cruz Mountains, Napa Valley, and Clear Lake. Because Arnot-Roberts produces only around 5,000 cases annually of around 17 different wines, many of the wines are allocated directly to the estate mailing list and are difficult to acquire.
