Maison Camille Giroud initially started as a small négociant firm in 1865, lending his name to the establishment. It was passed down to his daughter-in-law and her sons who kept their focus on the founding goal of producing a wine as old school traditional as possible. Extraordinarily long extraction and barrel aging in old oak produced massive wines that took up to ten years to release. In 2002, Americans Joe Wender and Ann Colgin purchased and sought to modernize the company. With a fresh start and under their lead, Maison Camille Giroud is now consistent and produces wines for character and complexity.
