Edmond Vatan

Edmond Vatan is one of Sancerre’s most revered traditional producers. Based in the village of Chavignol, Vatan built his reputation over six decades through an uncompromising approach to viticulture and winemaking. His daughter Anne began working alongside him in 2008 and continues the family’s remarkably limited production.

The domaine produces a single wine, Clos la Néore, from a small parcel within the celebrated Monts Damnés vineyard. Made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc using traditional methods, this exceptionally rare Sancerre is renowned for its concentration, mineral character, complexity and remarkable ability to age.
