As small-scale but high-quality négociant in the Nuits-Saint-George department of Burgundy, Dominique Laurent made a great name for itself after making the transition into the wine world from the pastry world. Their portfolio is based on small parcels of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from different appellations throughout the Côte-d'Or, and they released their first wines in 1988. Initial labels read “Dom. Laurent” as a deliberate trick based off of the founder’s name as well as alluding to it being a domaine even though they owned no vineyards. It is a known fact that fruit is sourced from very old parcels making quantities as limited as 25- 50 cases of each wine per vintage.
