Tusk Estates was founded in 2007 by friends Michael Uytengsu, Tim Martin, and acclaimed winemaker Philippe Melka. United by a shared passion for Napa Valley and a vision for creating an extraordinary Cabernet Sauvignon, the trio spent five years developing the project before releasing its inaugural 2008 vintage.

Tusk is produced from exceptional, predominantly hillside vineyard sites sites across Napa Valley. Melka applies a French-influenced approach to these powerful mountain-grown wines, creating Cabernet Sauvignon with depth, complexity, and longevity while retaining elegance and refinement.

Production remains extraordinarily limited, typically totaling only 200 to 300 cases annually. Initially offered through the founders’ personal network, Tusk has grown into one of Napa Valley’s most exclusive modern cult wines, with demand extending far beyond its tiny production.
