Pennsylvania nursery owners, Walt and Joan Flowers, had always wanted to combine their love of wine and agriculture, and in 1989 their dream became reality. After visiting Northern California wine country for years, the couple purchased 321 acres on the Sonoma Coast. Their two vineyards, the Camp Meeting Ridge and Sea View Ridge, are planted almost exclusively to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with some tiny parcels of Pinot Meunier.
The producer only uses organic and sustainable farming practices that create a distinct complexity for their fresh and acidic, cool-climate fruit. All of the wines are also fermented in open-top tanks, use natural gravity flows, and use wild yeasts as a means to ensure a true expression of the vineyards in the final product when the wines are enjoyed.
