Giovanni Almondo

The Almondo family has lived and farmed in Montà, in Piedmont’s Roero region, since the 14th century. The modern winery was established in 1978, and Domenico Almondo began transforming the family’s mixed farm into a quality-focused wine estate after completing his agricultural studies in 1980. Today, every stage of vineyard work and winemaking remains under family direction.

The estate’s vineyards occupy steep hillsides with sandy and calcareous soils particularly suited to Arneis and Nebbiolo. Bricco delle Ciliegie produces the domaine’s most celebrated Roero Arneis, valued for its fragrance, mineral depth, and freshness, while Bric Valdiana offers a structured expression of Roero Nebbiolo. The portfolio also includes Barbera d’Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, Freisa, and Riesling.
