Arbe Garbe

Arbe Garbe was founded in 2007 by Friuli natives Letizia Pauletto and Enrico Maria Bertoz as a way to reconnect with the wines of their homeland through California fruit. The name means “bad weeds” in Friulian dialect, referring to the plants that grow between vineyard rows and contribute to a healthy ecosystem.

The winery is best known for expressive white blends centered on Malvasia Bianca, Ribolla Gialla and Tocai Friulano from sustainably farmed vineyards in Sonoma County. The composition and winemaking change with each vintage, drawing on Friulian traditions such as skin contact while allowing the character of California’s vineyards to guide the final wine. Limited Charbono and single-variety bottlings have also been produced under the Benandants label.
